AT&T customer service
After the conversation I just had with customer service I can understand why so many people bad mouth AT&T..I tried to get the unlimited plan for my wife if she decided to get an iphone. My local store told me to call them and threaten to jump ship if they didn't give it to her. They basically asked me if I needed any help packing. They do not have that option even in their system to do an over ride. So when I informed her that there were a thousand examples of them doing it for other people she informed me that "she was not going to argue with me about it". Can you believe that? I have been an AT&T customer my whole life, have my land line and 4 cell phones including my iphone and thats the treatment I got..Has anyone got them to over ride the system and allow them unlimited since their change in plans took effect?

Yea dude, I'm pretty sure things regarding this come up all the time to att reps but u can't go around demanding things from a fortune 50 company that would give u exclusive rights over other contracted customers just like yourself. In a critical time like this, the reps at att don't want to lose their jobs because a customer feels he should have special treatment over others because of the length of time and use of of service with att. You get your early upgrades and device discounts for that already so try to refrain from asking for too much. We all have to deal with the data limits and we all have our reasons for staying with att and signing up for their services...and we all pay the same price for them. Business is business and fair is fair in the end and I'm going on lean on the side of the company who is integrating a whole new technology support their patrons and (eventually) outdo the competition.

my understanding is that if you had unlimited before and for whatever reason changed to a different (limited) plan, they will let you switch back. haven't heard that they are giving unlimited to new smart phone users or those that never had it before.

sense of entitlement???? what a pompus *** you must be.. go buy yourself a tramp and jump up and kiss my entitled a**.
I was asking for nothing more then what my local store told me to, nothing more nothing less..And I really don't give a damn if it is a fortune 500 company or the local bakery, telling a customer "I am not going to argue with you" is anything but service.
But thank you for your defense of a rude (I am assuming,fellow)employee... AT&T would be so proud of you for defending them..Of course there will be no bonus nor even an atta boy, but trust me, they will be proud of you, not so much that they won't help you empty your desk when you can be replaced by a cheaper "good ol boy".. Have a nice day.

Seriously. If this could be done then it would have been done at your local store. Don't let one rep change your mind about all of them. Often when I can't get the service I seek I simply call back and try again with another rep. I don't see this happening though as the only reports I have seen where someone has gotten the old unlimited plan was if they had it before and switched to another plan.

My whole point was the total rudeness of the lady.. because she didn't like me saying "excuse me mam but if that is the case why did my local store tell me to call you?" her immediate reply was, I am not going to argue with you, this isn't going to be done. I don't care who you are, that AIN'T funny, that is pure poor customer service.

These AT&T reps probably here this everyday! My friend works for AT&T, and told me the no unlimited data for iPhone is written in stone. So these reps deal with this question thousands of times a day, it would get quite old. Still no reason to be rude though.
