For about a week, I have been unable to update any apps on my iPhone 3GS (running FW 3.1.3). When I go into the app store and click on the blue "update" button, it changes to a green "install" button. If I tap "install", it switches back to the "update" button. This cycle repeats itself over and over.
If I erase the app from my phone, I am able to re-download it without issue. I can also install new apps on the phone.
At first, I though this was a problem with my phone resulting from the jailbreaking process. However, my nephew has a stock (non-jailbroken) iPod touch running iOS 3.1.2. He is having the exact same problem I am.
Is anyone else on iOS 3.x having the same problem? I have searched threads both here and at apple's web site. I could not find anyone talking about this on modmyi, however I did find the following on apple's site.
Same thing with me. 3gs, 3.1.3. New thing I haven't noticed is a little plus sign in the upper left corner of the update button. No luck finding answers on google. I have respringing and rebooted with no change.
I have the 3GS on 4.2.1 jailbroken with Greenpoisen and the same thing is happening.
When I try to install or reinstall an app or apps from my iphone it says "this has been already downloaded...you can connect to iTunes with your computer" (paraphrase). Then when I connect to iTunes on the computer (updated and also reset history) it starts to sync the apps but after finishing it says "there was a problem with installing the following apps" and lists all of them and does not install them.
This is obviously a real problem and I believe it's not user error as far as something we are missing that is simple.
Please anyone if they know how to fix or the reasons why, would really appreciate the feedback.
