    Default T-Mobile 3G or 4G?

I've been using a Jailbroken 2G with T-Mobile for almost 2 years. Time for a change.

Should I get a 3G or a 4G? Will both work well with T-Mobile or are there some caveats?

How much should I pay, e.g., on eBay for 16GB? Or, is there a different, better source for a good, used iPhone?

I DO have a 3G that I bought fairly cheap 2 years ago, but I had a problem jailbreaking it. Now the SIM card slot is broken. Haven't a clue what to do with that either.

    Thanks mucho.

The iPhone doesn't support the frequencies used by T-Mobile for their 3G, only the ones AT&T uses. You could get an iPhone 3G or 3GS or 4 if you wanted to, but you'd still be limited to EDGE speeds. Then of course there's the whole unlocking situation to worry about.

EEEk. Are you saying that T-Mobile only supports the 2G iphones, and that a 3G or 4G will not run on a T-Mobile service?

Hmm. Or are you saying that a 3G or 4G doesn't go as fast as you want?

I'm saying you can use whatever iPhone you want, minus the difficulty in unlocking it, but you won't be able to use anything but T-Mobile's 2G service. It's all about the frequencies man.

Ah. Well, the T-Mobile service has been fine for the 2 years I have had my present iPhone, and I'm not techie enough to know about what I don't have <g>. I'm glad to know I should be aware that speed will not increase with a newer iPhone. For me, I guess it's about the features.

    I appreciate your input!

    Warm regards.

You just waste my time by not responding to my questions, and merely looking for an opportunity to spread your sneering contemptuousness.

People on this forum have always been helpful with a can-do attitude, but you are the exception.

all i know is don't change your plan if you're on TZONE $2.99

i had that since day one. a few months ago, I was able to add $2.99 to everyone on my familyplan!

Never change, never lose it... it's the regreat you'll never want to have.

paying $15-30 for internet on your phone is just stupid. rather use that money for internet at home.

    btw

    2g is slow
    3gs is 2x as fast
    4g is 4x as fast

if money isn't a thing, $400-500 for a new i4 unlocked on craigslist.
3gs can run from $200-350, be patient--you'll find a nice almost new one for that price.

if you're in houston, I got a mint white 3gs 16gb for $350 with box hehe

but i love my iphone4, nicer SHARPER screen. a little better speakers (not by much) it's fast and has FLASH!
i love watching NETFLIX on my phone hehe.

    oops sorry
    FYI

    2g=3g they almost the same
3GS is the faster one. if anything get 3gs not 3g

Default T-Zones or Smart Phone Web Only?

T-Zone was a failure on my old Motorola, so I never even considered it.

These are my current services, showing I pay 24.99 for web service. Would I do better with T-Zones?

    ILD Bar Sub Level $0.00
    Msg Value Bundle 300 $4.99
    SmrtPh Web Only Unl $24.99
    Unlimited Loyalty $49.99

Do you get that max speed from T-Mobile? I've read they can't go much faster.

    Thanks.

Thanks Jonesy. Glad to hear it's not just me.
