Help with 3GS

Hello all. I have an unlocked iPhone 3GS (new Bootrom), using the 06.15.00 BB and Ultrasn0w 1.2. The problem is I can't seem to connect to the 3G network, I'm in Colombia, using Comcel carrier (official iPhone carrier) and this is an AT&T iPhone. Now, Comcel and AT&T both use the same freq for 3G and GSM but when I enable cellular data, I only get (intermittent) Edge coverage. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure, but you can't get 3G on an unlocked phone

Yeah, I used to get 3G reception with my old 3GS (unlocked also with ultrasn0w), using FW 4.0.1. But I had to replace it because the mic died.

Try ultrasnow 1.1-1

Does ultrasn0w 1.1-1 work with 06.15.00 BB?

I'm not exactly sure. Maybe just try uninstalling 1.2 and reinstalling it.

Thanks x98car, but I have already reinstalled it tons of times. I'll give it a go to ultresn0w 1.1-1 and will let you know. Also, I forgot to mention the most important symptom, whenever I try to turn 3g my signal drops and then I get No Service or Searching... and then No Service.

Something doesn't sound right there. Give the older version a show. Not sure if that will work though.

I Uninstalled ultrasnow 1.2, rebooted, then installed 1.1-1 and rebooted, but the unlock didn't work. So I uninstalled 1.1-1, rebooted, and reinstalled 1.2 again, but... Same problem.

1.1-1 does not work just to clarify. I tried it myself just to be sure.

After I said it I realized it probably wouldn't since dev team updated ultrasnow from 1.1-1 to 1.2 just to support the ipad baseband.
