Strange Iphone 4 problem! Can anyone help?

Now this is strange,

I have an Iphone 4 had Os 4.1 running on and when i place or receive calls no sound on either end (cant hear other end and vice versa) no sound from speaker either. The funny thing is that voice memos works fine.. i can record and listen without problems the same with the video camera.
Updated to 4.2.. still same problems. i even tried a blue tooth headset and you cant hear and the other end cant hear you.
The strange thing is that the speaker and mic work in othere applications except the phone function..
Any ideas?
