    Default Advice on my 3G

    Hello.
    I posted something similar in another forum but I think I misplaced it there so here it goes again:

    I recently got a jailbreaked iPhone 3G with iOS 4.1 and 07.05.11 baseband. It's performance is deplorable, Skype crashes and the battery drains mega quickly and the iPhone restarts when I do Internet tethering.

    Naturally I want all of that to work. I also want to be able to run constantly e buddy. I don't need iOS 4.2.1 for it to be enabled on background or do I?

    Should I revert to 3.1.3 or to 4.2.1? I have read that Skype seems to be working a lot better if I use redsn0w-0.9.6b6 and 4.2.1 improves battery life a well as performance to 3G

    If I do upgrade to 4.2.1, how do I need to upgrade it coming from a JB phone ? Do I need to restore from iTunes and upgrade from there or should I download a stock firmware manually?

    Your responses are appreciated and will get liked hehe

    I haven't heard of anyone jailbreaking on 4.2.1 yet (that is, a tethered jailbreak).

    4.2.1 = Better performance

    3.1.3 (under and above, up to 4.0.1) = Jailbreak

    A restore would probably fix all the iPhone's problems, although you will lose your jailbreak.

    That's all I've got...
