iTunes help

Hi guys need some help with tunes on 3GS 4.2.1 when I try to connect to iTunes i keep getting this erro iTunes cannot read the contents of the iphone go to the summary tab in iPhone preferences and click restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings..... Any idea what happen? Thanks fa the help

Is it your own phone? Has this just happened? A bit more info would really help the guys (& gals) on here just a bit of background.

If you don't rely on an unlock and jailbreak and the phone is backed up then go ahead with a restore.
If you do need an unlock and a jailbreak then hang fire.

Yes mine already jb happen yesterday been here try all morning want to restore stuff i backup on iTunes and can't and can't scny

Download and install i-funbox i-FunBox | File Manager, Browser, Explorer, Transfer Tool for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch via USB Connect your iPhone, Go and find “iTunesDB” in /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/

Delete the iTunesDB. And then you should be able to resync.


You could also SSH into the phone and go to that directory if you know how to.


If you find that you are missing a ton of space then go back in and delete the folders within "/private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music" Then resync.

Open funbox but where do I find files ? Not seeing it

In /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/

You may have to go back a directory because sometime they start you out in mobile user area.
