White screen of death on Iphone 4
Hi,
i have an other prob with my dadīs Iphone 4.
It was Jailbroken on 4.1 and my brother made an restore to original 4.2.1 with no jailbreak via itunes.
After the process the iphone wont start up anymore.
When turning it on it takes about 10 secs then the display turns white and thats it.
No apple Logo, nothing.
Itunes finds an Iphone in recovery mode. If you reinstall, same procedure.
I tried Tiny Umbrella and recboot to get it out of recovery mode, no success. The only way to use the Iphone right now is to use a thetered jailbread and boot it up via redsnow. I even opened it and disconnected the battery for over 30 minutes. On the next boot the white screen came back.
My father only makes calls with his phone so he wont need a jailbreak. Does anyone have an idea how to restore to an working original 4.2.1 without jailbreak.
Any solution is apreciated

Since you can't unlock that phone anymore anyways, go have it replaced at apple

Thanks but my Phone is factory unlocked. All i wanna do is restore it to the original Firmware and since apple declines warranty on jailbroken devices its no option to go there.

As long has you hit update or restore in itunes then you will be un jailbroken and on the latest firmware.

no, im not, i cant update cause im on jailbroken 4.2.1. When i restore to original via itunes it restores and on the first boot up im stuck with the white screen.
The onl way to get it back working is to re jailbreak it with (thetered) redsnow and boot it with redsnow, then it works.
But thats to complicated for my father, so i only want a non jailbroken device with a regular firmware.

By restoring you are wiping the jailbreak. So when you get stuck on that white screen you can claim on your warranty.

I solved the Problem by going to a certifierd repair center. They ware also not able to bring my dadīs Iphone back to life and told me to have it replaced by apple. So i contacted the hotline, described the problem and they exchanged the phone.
Thanx to anyone who tried to help.
@datblkbro:
