    Unhappy Stolen/lost iPhone recovery

Anyone know of a way to track down a stolen/lost iPhone? I found a few places that have an app you install but the phone is already gone...can't install an app on it now.

I dont know of a way to track it but you could phone the SIM provider who will block the IMIE number making the phone useless to any one that has got it.

If you report it lost or stolen, they can't use the phone anymore. Restoring or jailbreaking won't allow access anymore. I've actually seen a phone that has been disabled, someone bought it and guess it was a stolen item. I tried to fix it not knowing it was reported stolen, and it was after multiple different attempts and approaches before I realized it was disabled.

Well that's good to know...just wish I knew a way to track it down. I'm deployed in Afghanistan. Chances are another Soldier has it. If I could track it I could get it back.

You could put up like an ad for a reward if you think somebody near you has it. Just say you'll give someone $200 for returning it, then when they return with it report them and take the phone back and run away with your money

Actually you know seriously, you should consider putting up a small reward for it. It's good to know they can't use it anymore since you reported it stolen. You did give AT&T your IMEI right? Because that's how they'll disable it. That phone is no good to anyone except you now so I'm sure someone will return it for the reward.
