Shsh: 4.1, 4.2.1+
My SHSH in Cydia now includes 4.2.1+ with the original 4.1 blobs. The attached image is what it currently says, and before restoring it it never included the 4.2.1+. Can anyone please explain why and what this means? My settings still read 4.1 only, iSHSHit only saves 4.1, and iFullStat displays my iPhone on OS 4.1... This happened after I had to restore with an updated version of iTunes, but I used a 4.1 ipsw file with redsn0w. I have a 32GB iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 (and supposedly 4.2.1+, as well..) and baseband 6.15.00. I jailbroken with limera1n, and unlocked with ultrasn0w. My iPhone is fine right now and I know how to restore it when I need to. I'm just curious as to exactly what this means. Thank you!

Thats just your SHSH. It isnt what firmware you are on. Cydia will save all SHSH for your phone for future firmware automatically.

Your SHSHs are saved for any firmware Apple is signing at the time. Meaning you can get 4.2.1 SHSHs with never being on 4.2.1. Just like how if someone got an iPhone with 4.1 on it now, they couldn't even get a 4.1 SHSH even though they're not on it, because Apple isn't signing it. The only firmwares Apple is currently signing is 3.1.3 (for iPT 1G & origional iPhone), 4,.2.1 and 4.3b

Got it. Did you, by any chance, mean to say that an iPhone that comes with 4.1 would still be unable to obtain the 4.1 SHSH, even though they are on it? If you didn't, then I'm still confused. Can people share their SHSH with other iPhones or download them like a custom ipsw file? Random curiosity that is leaning towards a no. And if you use the ModMyi app, how can I thank you two without opening a browser? I see the quote button, but no thank you. Thank you!

Yes, even if you are on 4.1 that doesnt mean you can save 4.1 SHSH. Saving SHSH has nothing to do with what firmware is on the device. It has everything to do with what firmware Apple is currently signing. Since Apple is only signing 4.2.1 then that is the only SHSH you can save now.
There is no thanks button (yet) in the mmi app.
