N00b here is beyond confused
Hey guys. I've tried searching and I cant come up with an answer that works. And just so you guys know. I'm totally new to the iphone and jailbreaking world. I'm not totally computer illiterate. I've Hackintoshed my dell (admitedly that was quite awhile ago)
Heres what I'm running right now.
iPhone 3G 8gb
3.1.3
Unlocked using Ultrasn0w
Jailbroken using jailbreakme.com
Baseband 5.12.01
T-Mobile FlexPay Plan 1000 Minutes, Unlimited Text and Data
My Cydia SHSH at the top of its homepage says iOS 4.0.1
Heres the issue... I've tried using pwnage tool to create me an iOS 4 ipsw.
Everytime I try to Shift Restore in iTunes I get an error. Error 1604 if I'm in Restore Mode. Error 1600 if I'm in DFU mode.

Other issues:
I had given up on upgrading to iOS 4 and decided to stick with 3.1.3
So I tried getting my phone to do MMS. I installed the T-Mobile Carrier Bundle which didnt seem to do anything. Even after I reset the network setting and rebooted the phone. It actually made it worse so internet didnt work unless i was connected to wifi.

So heres what I'm asking. How do I upgrade to iOS 4?
Is it worth it to upgrade to iOS 4? Angry Birds already stutters on 3.1.3 I'm not sure if I really want to make it worse.
If I stick with 3.1.3 how do i get MMS to work?
If I go with iOS 4 how do i get MMS to work?
I'm sorry for all the stupid questions but I've been going through pages and pages and pages of searching and reading threads that are 100+ pages long
Its official lol.... I Am Lost.
Thanks for the help guys!!

So then I'll stick with 3.1.3
I just changed the Settings and the phone is rebooting
Now what about internet tethering?
So none of the settings on that thread got my MMS to work. I got to the point where I could send. But not receive.
And I cant seem to find the MMS & Tethering 5.6 package on Cydia that they're talking about.
Yes!! Success!!! I finally got MMS working!
For peeps with a FlexAccount here are the instructions
This is from the T-Mobile Support Website
