Stupid black screen!

Had a new iPhone fall into my hands today, for free at that! Problems tho, of course. First and formost, the phone is completely stuck on dead screen, no button response, no charger response, no computer response. Apparently the battery died and that was it. It's never been jailbroken or had any attempts to be jailbroken. If you have a potential solution awesome! But first I should include problem 2. I know it's white, and 16g. I don't know if it's a 3GS or 3G. The girl who gave it to me doesn't know, it's her fifth one in three months and Shes scared to ask her husband about, she intends to buy and sneak in a new one... Lol, anyway, any ideals?!?

If she bought it in the last 3 months Apple would repair it for free. And why is she going through them so much?

have a receipt of purchase or invoices? if no then probably its stolen ouch.....

I'm not saying it is stolen just saying that they have a 1 year warranty on them.

But are you using the same lead to connect it to the PC and to the Charger, If so the lead could be broken ?

I tried my own lead so that's not broke, and she has the box, they bought it from AT&T at full price, I she says she doesn't know anything about the warranty but I really don't want 'her' to have it fixed seeing as I want to keep it, she's never upgraded it so it's still on older fw, I have an i4 that's brand new came on 4.2.1 Aka unusable since I rely on an unlock and the 3G I use now is crap since I upgraded the baseband for an unlock so I guess I'll just pull it apart and see that Everythings connected

Update, pulled the phone apart and checked everything out made sure it was all connected, put back together... And it works perfectly fine... Except it won't pick up wifi lol

No, didn't work after I got the screen on on 3.1.3restored to 4.1 sb Ipsw still the same thing, If I try to put my network in manually it says 'can not scan for wireless networks'

When you restored it did you set it up as a new phone ? if not i would set up as a new phone, and also have you tried re setting network settings ?

Set up as new phone and reset then restored again, Still nothing. I even pit it in the fridge like I read on one forum lol nothing. I didn't see anything wrong with the wifi part of the mb when I pulled the phone apart, of course I'm not sure that it 'was' the actual wifi part, I read in a forum with a pic it was the two little white chips by the small metal piece on the mb.
