What is iapd?
Title says it all, but what is iapd, and what functions does it serve? I noticed that it will crash endlessly sometimes when i restart my iPod Touch 2G (iOS 4.1) while it is docked (under certain conditions, yeah its a LONNNNNNGG story.) .
I know that it is crashing because I can look at the crash logs and iapd will appear 70 somthing times(
) , and i have verbose boot enabled and it gives me some string about iapd crashing.

I believe it is when an accessory is not supported. Not sure 100%

Something may be causing it to have issues with your dock. Possibly whatever you used to jailbreak it.

i think its my case/dock adapter that came with the case
(switcheasy case). long story short, with the case on it wont do line out audio, remote dosnt work, charges intermittently, and if I reastart the iPod while its in the dock it goes into a crash loop...yada yada ect ect. Apple already replaced the dock, and my iPhone and iPod (without switcheasy case and dock adapter) works normally when placed in the dock. Confusing, right?
try explaing all this to an apple tech and a switcheasy rep over email. it isnt fun
