Iphone 3G 8G (? version)

When turned on, it will get to the white apple screen and freeze up, then shut back off. I was going to do a restore, but I am wondering how I can get my pictures and contacts list backed up. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Does it stay on when you connect to your PC ?

Try connecting to iFunbox to see if you can get your pictures

It doesn't stay on when connected to the computer. I am not for sure what Ifunbox is.

Bump, really need help on this. Anyone?

EDIT: I can get it into recovery mode and it shows up in Itunes, but I cannot do a restore from backup. The only option is to restore and loose everything.

Try Kick it out of recovery with Tiny Umbrella,

iFunbox lets you shsh into your phone.

You say you want to restore but what are you wanting to restore too ?

Tell us exactly what you need and we will try and help you, and tell us if you were jailbroken before and do you need unlock, what you was on before the crash ?

Quick fix would be make sure that you have the latest iTunes and download a stock 3.1.3 and Shift+Restore to that

I will try to explain better.

I am not jailbroke, my last update was in July, so I am not for sure what version it was on. When turned on, it will get to the black screen with the white apple, then turn back off. I do not have ssh installed on the phone, it was not modified at all. I can get it into recovery mode, but the only option in itunes is to restore. It tells me that all my data (pictures and contacts) will be lost.

My question is if there is any way to get all the pictures and contacts list off the phone? Please help ASAP.
