I am having the same issue and cannot find a fix anywhere. SSH will stop working after a few minutes. Toggling on and off with SBSettings does not work. I have to go into Cydia and reinstall openssh to get it working again and it will only stay working for a few minutes.
i am having the exact same issue, every time i want to use SSH again i have to go into cydia and reinstall it.
It has to be a problem with the iPhone or the way OpenSSH works with iPhone 4
Is there any fix? Because it is very had to transfer files when i keep losing connection.
Sounds like i have found the thread I need to watch...I too am having this problem and have for quite some time...thought it was my D-link router, but seems to be other issues....I can try connecting, and it just keeps retrying, and sometimes takes up to 10-15 minutes of retrying before finally connecting, then if I leave it idle for a couple minutes, and go back and try to move something, it is disconnected...very aggrevating. I can use iFunbox, but I just like not having the cable connected, also just can't stand when something doesn't work right lol. Hopefully someone will come up with a solution to this and let us all know.
Bit if a pain in the barse (area between your balls and arse) when theming because you really need to see how a layout looks with the freshly designed icon. When it doesn't work, back to gimp to edit something, yadda yadda yadda, connection gone, reinstall from cydia and restart fugu.
Oh well. If an update is released, I'll be ecstatic, but most stuff on here is free. If I had to pay to jailbreak, pay for cydia or openssh I'd be more upset.
Dropbox doesn't work for any .png files that have a transparent section though. But for most other things, when used with ifile, it's pretty easy.

SMC 8014WG. It's the one supplied by my cable company. But when I do stuff on my sister in law's Mac mini with a D-Link WBR1310 I have the same issues. On my wife's 3GS with 4.1 I have no issues on either computer.
This is exactly what is happening to me. Strangely enough, I used the same version of Redsnow and running same iOS (4.2.1) on my iPad, and it doesnt suffer this problem.
Just my iPhone 4 does this. I have also tried Toggle SSH, and it doesnt help. Only way I can get SSH to respond is by reinstalling it, and itll work for about 5-10 minutes at most.
I should mention I also tried running Redsnow b6 from my Mac, and installing the custom SSH bundle, and that reacts the exact same way.
