Sim card question

Could a bad sim card possibly cause prombles for a iPhone 4?
Such as battery lost? Or reception?

I think the SIM if anything would affect signal but not battery drain.

If your SIM was loosing Signal all the time it would effect the battery too as your phone would always be searching for signal.

A sim card will cause reception issue which in will return will cause battery drainage because the phone is always searching for signal. I would see if you put the phone on edge if you are still getting bad reception and also if you see a battery improvement or not. If no then i would go and get a new sim card.
