Default Lost Iphone. Getting New one. Several Questions First.

Ok, So I had an UNLOCKED AND JAILBROKEN iphone 3gs on the 6.15 firmware. I unfortunately lost it a few days ago.

I looked at tiny umberella and I have the following SHSH's saved:

    4.1 (8B117)
    4.2.1 (8c148a)
    4.2b3 (8C5115c)

    All for Iphone 3gs.

Now if I was to go into apple and purchase a new 3gs, will I be able to jailbreak and unlock the phone? Will I be able to downgrade a new 3gs with those SHSH's even though its not the same phone?

I dont want to buy a new phone and have it bricked for a long time, so any answers will be appreciated! Thanks!

You wont be able to use those SHSH, they are device specific. You should be able to jailbreak and unlock it, but it will depend on what firmware and baseband it comes with whether or not it will be untethered or not.

Well if I buy the phone from the apple store, I'm guessing it will come with the newest firmware and baseband. Can the newest firmware be jailbroke and unlocked?

Yes, but it will be tethered.
Not worth it imho, I would buy one used on a older firmware

Ok. If I am understanding correctly, tethered means that it will restore if I turn the phone off or restart? Otherwise, the rest of the jailbreak is the same?

Tethered doesnt mean it will restore, just means you will need to run the jailbreak again to boot tethered after rebooting.

Ok to me that isnt a very big issue since I very rarely reboot my iphone.

Just to be 100% sure, I can go into the apple store today, buy a new 3gs, take it home, and jailbreak and unlock it? It will just be tethered. Correct?

Yup, you will need to do the ipad baseband method of unlocking though.
