problem with tethered jailbreak

iphone 4 4.2.1 jailbroke with redsnow tethered no problem but when i try to install from cydia tried different things not just the same download and need to reboot the phone gets stuck at apple logo. have to restore. have tried at least 4 times and everytime gets stuck. didnt know if anybody had any ideas. phone jailbreaks fine and even when i have to run redsnow to boot tethered it is fine but when i try to install from cydia and needs reboot it stops. thanks in advance

When you rebooted, you need to reboot using redsn0w with the "just boot tethered" option. I assume you do not understand what a tethered boot option, might want to do some research. Tethered means just that; you cannot boot your phone without connecting it to your computer and using redsn0w. That includes rebooting after installing something from Cydia. Connect your phone and boot with redsn0w, and things will be fine. Or try the untethered beta redsn0w.

i understand the tethered boot but even with it plugged in and i reboot device from cydia how do i run redsnow when it is stuck at apple logo if i turn it off run redsnow will it boot back thanks

tried again phone jailbreaks fine reboots then run redsnow again to tethered fine then run cydia do updates reboot redsnow tethered fine. but when i try to install anything in cydia and needs to reboot phone gets stuck with apple logo. dont know where to go from here i can get the connect to itunes screen and get back to apple logo but wont shut off. you cant run redsnow when apple logo or connect to itunes screen is on can you phone needs to be off? or if i get into dfu mode can i run redsnow? sorry to ask i have been jailbreaking for short while just dont post very much. thanks in advance for any help.
