or clean the screen that covers the speakers. I actually cleaned mine when i had the 2G and after i cleaned it i used a pin to make the holes bigger (please be careful not to be too rough) worked fine for me after

When I had a 2G I used a little pin just to poke holes through the filter that is under the small holes. Like pratt said though be careful doing it.
