question about tethered jb

i've read up on tethered jailbreak but my question is if i do restart my iphone do i need to restore the firmware in itunes the firmware i downloaded then run redsnow or just run redsnow. i did a search but couldnt find the answer. i've jb my old 3g and my new iphone 4 but had to return the 4 because the power/sleep button quit working. any help is appreciated thanks in advance

Just run redsnow and choose the option to boot tethered.

thanks i wasnt sure if i needed to go through it all again or just run redsnow i knew when i ran redsnow to check just boot tethered but didnt know about before that thanks again
