Default Confused about selling my 3G

I'm about to sell my unlocked 3G and I don't know what to do in order to remove my info. I mean I know to go into settings and erase all. But won't that erase the jailbreak/unlock? The guy that wants to buy it has AT&T already so I assume I shouldn't care about losing the unlock. It's running on 3.1.3 btw. He asked if there was a way I could keep my music on there but I don't think there is a way. If I just wipe the phone clean he will have to plug it into iTunes to get it to work correct? Will that automatically upgrade the firmware?

Plug your phone into iTunes click shift alt and restore to 3.1.3 then rejailbreak it. Dont set the phone up as new or anything that way when he gets it he can put his computer and his own music and apps on it

So plugging it in and hitting shift+restore will erase all my info? No contacts no old emails? When he gets it it will still be registered in my name right? What happens when he plugs it into his computer?

Sorry you need to download 3.1.3 firmware and select it when doing the restore like I said. It will whip all info off the phone no music no nothing. The rejailbreak it

You can sign out of itunes first, then restore the iphone. Once restored, do not setup iphone, let the new buyer set it up then you will not have any info on this phone.

quickest way is just to reset all content and settings. then just plug into your itunes and your done. Ive done this many times it;s easier then downloading firmwares
