iPhone 4 won't sync/charge, But when it's off it does?

This pretty much just randomly happened. I woke up one night and saw my phone wasn't getting charged in the dock. I got up and figured it was the cord so I used my desktop and still didn't charge.

But when I came back a few hours later it charged up to 20% which now I figured out the phone charges only when it's off or sleeping. What's even more weird is that it doesn't sync to the computer or show that the charger is connected.

I haven't opened it up or messed with it so I have no clue why this is happening. Any help would be great guys, thanks!

I would do a restore on it and see if that fixes you problem but the phone in dfu to see if itunes recognizes it. If not then you have a bad dock and that will have to be replaced.

I held both the home and power button to the point where it asked me to connect to iTunes and when I connected it the computer didn't recognized it so pretty much that's a failed idea.

Is there anyway for me to back up the phone now or that's not possible anymore?

Not unless you can get root access to your phone

Any other ideas what it could be? Would I need to get it repaired maybe?

Yeah a repair i am thinking is going to be you only way unless you can magically get the computer to recognize it.

Hola. Necesitas redsn0w. Puedes usar google.com. Tambien cuando el iPhone cerrar necesitas usar redsn0w porque el iPhone no puede abrir. Lo siento yo no se mucho español.
