Factory iPhone 4 question

Hello fellow iPhoners,

I am looking to buy an iPhone 4 but am concerned about not being able to unlock it to use with T-mobile. I know that there is only unlock available for baseband 1.59.00 (as of now). My question is: does anyone know if Apple is selling iPhone 4s that are updated (baseband 2 and 3). If so, does anyone know the dates when they started releasing these pre-updated phones? (if they did at all..)

I am wondering this because i want to buy a factory sealed iPhone 4, so there is no way of me knowing what baseband the phone is running.

All phones are out of the box at 4.1+ right now so you won't find one with baseband 1.59. You're best bet is to try and find one that's factory unlocked instead although that'll cost you a few extra hundred.

Ios update to 4.1 was on September 8th.

So aslong as you get a phone that is sealed that was purchased before septemeber i think you will be safe and it will come 1.59.00 bb.

Your only going to maybe find one on ebay. But like Posiedon said most phones from apple or att will be with 4.1
