Multitasking on iPhone 3G with iOS 4?

So i have upgraded to 4.2.1 and noticed the speed difference, the 4.2.1 has made my iPhone 3G faster. So i decided to Jailbreak it and enable Multitasking option from Redsn0w.

I've been using the iPhone for a couple of days, but noticed some problems.

In some apps, i was prompted 'updade available', so when i try to update it by tapping on 'upgrade available' tab, it's supposed to take me to App store so i could update it.
But no, as soon as i tap the button 'updade available', my iPhone would respring and go to Safe mode.

So that's one problem, and now the second. I use Opera Mini for browsing the internet and when i try to watch the videos, it usually says 'Open file' or 'Download file'. When i go on it, iPhone resprings and goes to Safe mode.

Normally it plays a video on Quicktime player, when i close the video, it shows that im on Safari. So i believe Opera redirects me to Safari and Safari uses Quicktime to play videos.

Now these problems occured when i had Multitasking option enabled. So i Jailbroke my iPhone again and this time i didn't select Multitasking option and it seems to work fine. So basically i miss the multitasking option, and was wondering if there is an alternate tweak on Cydia that anyone knows of? So i can multitask my iPhone 3G?

the jailbreak must have broken the external appatore links..
to activate mt manually go to system/library/coreservices/springboard.app and look for n72ap.plist or maybe n82ap.plist im not sure but youll see the right one easy enough. go into the prop list and search for the key "multitasking" underneath will be a false, just change it to true and respring
p.s if you dont see the mt string just add it anywhere in the list using
multitasking

get backgrounder and activator from Cydia, it does the same as multitask,

I found the string and set it to true, but it doesn't solve my problem. I still get to Safe mode etc
