FaceTime and older iOS

I tried searching for this topic but couldn't find anything. I have iPhone 4 on 4.0.1 but some one on 4.2.1 is trying to FaceTime me and can't unless I upgrade. Is there a way to spoof my firmware or is there a hack in cydia I can use. I can't find info on this even with google. I don't plan on upgrading until a untethered jailbreak is available for 4.2.1. The iPod actually said my name and and I "have" to upgrade

Were you trying to facetime your iphone 4 with an ipod touch or another iphone 4? Facetime with ipod touch (4th gen) requires minimum firmware 4.1 to work. At least with the new skype iphone version 3.0 now you can video chat over wifi and 3g with phones and pc's so its' really better than facetime anyway.
