ok, i updated today like a fool forgetting about baseband versions, and i depended on my unlock.
cut a long story short i now have 06.15.00 baseband, and happily unlocked
can someone please tell me the bad stuff about having this
will it stop me from doing certain things in the future?

You might have lost your GPS function. It also voids any warranty as it's an obvious sign of tampering. Check your GPS and see if it works. Thats the only large concern really.

Your baseband will only chain if apple updates the iphone's baseband past 6.15.00.

Although it sounds good that your baseband will not change (as you can keep your unlock) you will not be able to update your phone to any future stock firmwears until Apple catch up on the baseband (only CF)and that could be a long time.
Just thought i would mention that for others reading this

yes i read that before doing this, but i need my unlock that bad i had too.
i would like to know, if the dev-team make a unteatherd unlock for 4.2.1 using the 4.1 SHSH blobs, will i be able to update from my current version (4.1) too 4.2.1 too then jailbreak and unlock again?
btw i have a new bootrom 3gs
EDIT:
btw i just did a successful restore with and official apple ipsw. just needed to be kicked out of recovery mode and done
EDIT 2:
nevermind i found it is quite easy to get yourself back to and official firmware.
i also read that there is work being done to make a tool that will downgrade the baseband back, so you can continue to update like normal, for now ill just stay on 4.1Last edited by iNeo; 12-27-2010 at 06:22 AM.
