Redsn0w will never let you restore! Read this..
Dude , i just tried to restore my iphone through itunes and everytime it gets to firmware at the end, it freezes.. This has got to be because 6.15 is higher than the actual version that apple offers. So what happens when we actually need to restore the device???
I have iphone 4 also, so I ran redsnow with 3gs 4.1 and installed ipad baseband and YEP - it is true as far as I know, you can NOT restore because the baseband is HIGHER than what apple offers for your device.
Anyone know how to reset baseband through terminal or just format the iphone COMPLETELY with terminal - I have SSH installed but cant get it connected to my network because it wont get past recoveery...
ANYONES HELP IS AWESOME!

Try shift-upgrade when installing different FW. That BB does mess with things. here is a great page I used and it worked for me. click on his upgrade docs link. My work, my life!
