Frozen iPhone 4, literally...
I work in my unheated garage a lot and two nights this week I have picked up my phone to find it turned off. Both times it was sitting on a very cold wood desk.
After this happening I could not turn on the phone for probably 30 min. Tried warming it back up but nothing. Only time + warmth seemed to work.
Anyone else had this happen ever??

your battery is frozen. put it in an insulated bag as you work. or make a bag outta foil bubblewrap. your reception may suffer tho.Neoprene would work too. best is to just keep it in a pocket near your body.
note ALL phones (batteries)suffer from this.60% of the time, it works every time.

I kinda figured that was it. Just never had a problem with any other electronics while working out there.

Interesting that the battery gets frozen like that - if it was kept in a pocket or something would that stop it from turning off?

I'm sure it will be fine if I don't put it in the desk. We'll see tonight

If it does not work, I'm pretty sure it still has warranty.

i dunno if freezing is covered. i'd classify it as abuse, although unintentional. not sure how they could find out tho. give it a few hrs to warm up thoroughly before firing the phone up.
60% of the time, it works every time.

Ok maybe I need to clear this up. I'm on the phone now. It's fine. No need for warranty.
Though I would love to understand how it's abuse to set my phone on a desk.
Any way, I was merely trying to see if anyone else encountered this. Guess not
