i just bought a 1st gen iphone off ebay and i was just gona use it as an ipod touch but the screen with the usb cable and itunes log is the only thing that appears. ive try restoreing it about 8 times and still nothin. sorry if this is a stupid ? but like i said im a nube......lol, thanks

wow! where to start? search and download an app called tinyumbrella (on your computer, not iPhone) it should kick you out so you can restore.

i dont think so i got it off ebay but i cant even get the sim card slot open....lol i know im not smart

Your not dumb you just got the phone. Just use a pin or something. The sim card tray is at the top of the phone. Put the pin in the hole.

ok i got it open and their is a att card in it

Yeah If you look there is a little hole right next to the long oval thing right next to the headphone jack. Just push the pin and out comes the tray. Let me see if I can get a picture.
