Transparent Dock Not Working Properly
Hi, all. I searched the forum first but didn't find what I need some help with. I'm using an iPhone 3G with iOS 4.2.1 installed, which I jailbroke using Redsnow for Mac. I remember when I had 4.1 installed and my dock had been transparent (five-icon dock with all icons visible but the ugly silver dock under it invisible) since as long as I had the iPhone, like, back before they even called it an "iOS". Now, after I installed 4.2 and jailbroke it, none of the "transparent dock" add-ons work properly, incl. the one in Winterboard. When I try to make the dock transparent, it does remove the silver dock but the icons get shifted up a lot higher for some odd, random reason. I even tried manually replacing the dock with a transparent image that I found on a forum. I replaced the "SBDockBG" file with the transparent image ver. using Cyberduck and SSH'ing into the phone, and the same exact result followed. How can I make my dock transparent without the icons being moved up? I really would love to have that horrible dock gone like I was always able to do up till now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. =]

Transparent Dock Not Working Properly
Yep... I have just upgraded to Jailbroken 4.2 and I have the exact same problem.
I previously had 4.0.1 and Transparent Dock 4 worked perfectly with my Gradiance theme. Now it's not removing the dock.
I'm glad someone else has the same problem.
Anyone with an idea?

Would love to see this problem fixed.

Any solution to this yet? I tried deleting the dock files from SpringBoard.app folder but that just made the whole screen kook out and my dock icons vanish. Have reinstalled SBDockBG.png and SBDockBG-old.png but kept deleted SBDockMask.png and SBDockMask-72.png. Which now means the dock is actually uglier than ever but at least my icons are back!

Have you tried changing the order in winterboard? Ie move transparent dock up the list!

Hey. I've reinstalled WB and have tried making 'transparent dock' first in the list but it actually kooks everything out. THe icons all bunch together so the labels overlap the icons below... It turns it into a mess. Somehow it just leaves an empty space at the dock (yes what I wanted) but nothing can be there not even the icons that are meant to sit in the dock area. For some reason it's just not compatible. I'm guessing when Saurik wrote the upgrade he may not have edited the stock WB changes that come with.
I tried backing up the file SBDockBG.png (which is the file that has the ugly as anything dock image) but it can't be opened in anything because it's 'corrupted'... Not PS or Windows Photo Viewer (or whatever that program is that lets you look at pictures without much memory load...)
Anyway, I used iFile on my phone to save this image to my camera role then put it on my computer so the dimensions are spot on. Now opening in PS, deleting what's in it, resaving as web safe PNG... Dragging and dropping into phone, respring...
Yep, worked no problems. No dock for me anymore. Image attached if anyone wants it. You just need to drop it into System\Library\CoreServices\SpringBoard.app. Make sure you backup the other file first.

The image is above. Direct link to it is http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lfxvkv7o5K1qf38hd.png.
Thanks for all your help, can't believe I didn't come up with this sooner... *face palm*
