    Thumbs down Low phone signal

    iPhone 4 w/firmware 4.1 JB and unlocked,using T-Mobile prepaid.
Shows really low signal compared to a 3GS that i have.
If standing say on a table, shows 3-4 bars, but as soon i grab it
looses almost all the bars or shows only one,if i open "Phone"
    shows "No Service".
Any hint for this problem ?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you

How long have you had the iphone 4? Did you have it on 4.0 or 4.0.1? My JB iphone 4 was glorious with signal on 4.0.1. Then I updated to 4.1 and was dismayed to find that my reception was overnight significantly worse. I think it's a problem with how 4.1 handles the signal in marginal signal areas. There are several areas on my drive to work where I ALWAYS would drop calls with my iphone 3G and sometimes data would switch to Edge. Was so happy when I got the iphone 4, the problem was fixed on 4.0 and both regular and JB JB 4.0.1.

Then I updated to 4.1 and JB; overnight was back to the same sh*t signal and dropped calls I'd had with my old iphone. Combined with the epic data download speed problems I had the first few weeks after iphone 4 release (got mine day 1) and the signal bars debacle, I'm honestly convinced that the iphone software is at least equally responsible for a lot of the problems that I'd been blaming solely on AT&T. (And I'm not a fan of AT&T; don't even get me ranting about being charged $15/ mo for unlimited texting; how is that not "data@?!?!?).

Anyway I wish I had a solution for you, but I don't, and I'm not at all convinced that a clean restore and fresh JB/unlock is going to help you at all...but since you're not on AT&T maybe it would. But in my experience, my signal strength and reliability just tanked with 4.1.
