iPad Baseband has ruined my 3gs

Ok, i was on 4.1 decided to unlock this phone that sat here doing nothing for my mrs to use, couldnt do it on the 4.1 baseband so i updated it to the ipad one.

Now....I get reception after i reinstall the ipad baseband for about 5 seconds then i get nothing, the very minimal line all bars can show, sometimes no service, sometimes it shows im connected to my service provider but unable to make or recieve calls. The phone is deffinatley not blacklisted.

Im sure there must be loads of others out there with this problem? i dont want to update to 4.2.1 as ill loose a unteathered jailbreak. Is there anyway to make a 4.2 custom firmware yet on a windows pc? If not all i guess i can do is compile a 4.1 in snowbreeze and run ultrasnow again.

Guessing the big capitals letters saying you cant downgrade after you done this cant be reversed?? Right royal pain in the *** this one.

Any help would be so so welcome

Sorry man. There were warnings all over this unlock. Try to restore to a custom FW of 4.1.

Granted there were, but he who dares sometimes wins lol i dont know if this means anything at the minute it says waiting for activation on the home screen, does it need hacktivating perhaps?? I just cant believe there arent others out there with the same problem??

Now i get a error 1600 when trying to restore to my current version custom firmware???¬¬!!!! any ideas!!!! Can of worms springs to mind.....not happy!

If it goes through the update process then you get the error right at the end try using tinyumbrella to exit recovery.

Now that you have the iPad BB you can never restore to a stock firmware again. Each and every time you restore to a custom firmware you have to use Pwnage or redsn0w to enter DFU mode to avoid error 1600.
