hello all
i have a problem with my UK O2 iPhone 4.
it says i have 3G coverage but infact i dont.
ive been to the O2 store and thay have tested to make sure its not my sim and they have confirmed it is a bad apple ( so to speak )
they have given me 2 option,
1. get it send away and O2 will repair it
2. go to nearest apple service centre and they are likely to do a straight swap.
my question is, now ive lost my jailbreak and reinstalled a clean 4.2.1 last night, is there any way at all that either of the options above can detect my IP4 was once jailbroke thus stopping them to either repair or replace
As far as I know, there is no way of knowing if an iDevice has been jailbroken. Maybe if they were to dig further in to the OS, there might be a trace, but for your problem, I think you are safe.
many thanks for reply sam
i took it in today, and they replaced the phone for me
the girl done abit of genius stuff with her ipod touch and a mac air and nothing was mentioned
but, i still have the same issue !!!!
tuens out the guy in the o2 shop is a goon send me ona wild goose chase when infact it was the sim card at fault
new sim now just have to wait 24 hrs for it to activate
got a brandnew ip4 tho
As long as you do a clean restore and not restore from a backup, they can't tell that you've jailbroken. Otherwise traces might remain (like a battery percentage indicator on 3G or below, or the tethering options being enabled in the US, etc).
