Jailbroken 4.2 iPhone Questions

Alright, so I have a couple questions about some things. I am new to all this jailbreaking stuff and all the terms and all that. I have a feeling that some of the things in Cydia will not work on the 4.2.1 firmware.

I have tried to use "MakeItMine" over and over again and my text will just not show up on either the carrier or the banner.

The MyTerminal app always crashes right when I try loading it and I don't know why.

And I also have a question about my dial pad tones. I installed the Daft Punk ones, but they are really quiet for some reason. I tried to change to .aiff and open in Audacity and up the volume, but it was already all the way up it said. Is there any possible way to make them louder?

I am sorry for such the long post, but I would greatly appreciate it if anyone would be willing to give me some answers for my concerns.

Makeitmine and terminal havent worked since 4.o i believe and for the loudness of the keys. I am not sure other than getting a different tone or making a copy of the tone and manually making it loader on a computer than reinstalling it in to the phone.

A new app, Fake Operator (via Cydia) may be an alternative to MakeItMine. No guarantees, sorry. I don't need it & haven't tried it.

I am wanting to replace the AT&T I have there now, I have tried downloading a .png from here and SSH'ing it but it didn't work. Do you know of another way to customize that?
