    Default spotlight won't launch apps?

did a search and didn't find anything.

    i'm on a 3GS, 4.1, limera1n jb.

i just tried searching in spotlight for a song ... the search performed as it should, and returned all the right hits. but when i tap the song, it doesn't launch the ipod app. in fact, spotlight won't launch ANY app -- mail, "search wikipedia," contacts, applications, nothing.

again, the searches return the hits, but the apps won't launch out of spotlight.

i haven't tried using spotlight in a while, and i have a lot of packages installed, so i have no idea which package might have caused this ... so i'm hoping someone else has run into this and fixed it, rather than me having to try uninstalling each package one-by-one.

    any help is appreciated ...

    found the problem.

i'm using BrowserChanger (so that i can run Skyfire as my default browser rather than safari). it appears that Spotlight must use some part of the safari engine (i'm probably misusing terms of art here -- i'm not a techie guy) to launch out of its search results (even if they are songs, vids, etc.), because as soon as i disabled browserchanger, spotlight started working again.
