google. and also i believe the 3g and 3gs are unlocked for life as there is a permanent unlock cause of the chip they use, and apple can not patch a read only chip

the unlocks for the old phones is far simpler now a days. i believe they have pretty much mastered the old chips as far as i know and according to all i have read over the years

ps stop updating so quickly and this wouldnt have been a problem

Again, they are not unlocked for life, if you update the baseband, like dev team says, maybe never be able to unlocked again, unlocks are becoming harder and harder with the time, example: 4.2.1 only can be unlocked with ipad baseband.

Sunday's unlock was more of a workaround than anything and it would probably be best to wait and see if your current baseband ever gets unlocked. 05.14 is not unlockable at the moment. If you have the right bootloader you can downgrade the baseband but this is somewhat unlikely.
