Default Data Leak and Battery Drain

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had an experience to mine...I have a brand new 3gs unlocked on 4.1. I don't have anything besides Cydia, bitesms and ultrasn0w installed on the phone, yet my data uses has been going nonstop. I reset the usage stats last night around 10pm, when I woke up this morning about 2 gigabytes was transferred. A fully charged battery will die within 3 hours.

Any idea what's wrong? I've tried re-jailbreaking to no avail.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Why did your re-jailbreak attempt fail? I think that's going to be the best option for you since you only have those programs installed. There's obviously something going on in the background.

Since you rely on an unlock, you can use PwnageTool (Mac) to restore back to custom 4.1 firmware while perserving your baseband. If you are on Windows, use redsn0w 0.9.6b2 to put your iPhone into custom DFU mode, and then shift + restore in iTunes to a 4.1 custom PwnageTool firmware that you downloaded somewhere (make sure it's a trustworthy source!).

Thanks for the reply. What I meant by the jailbreak failing was that I was able to jailbreak again, but the problem still persisted.

It looks like it may have to do with 4.1 searching for some sort of activation according to what sherif hashim posted on the dev team blog...
