I recently upgraded iTunes to 10.1 in preparation for iOS 4.2, I wasn't aware that wifi sync is not yet compatible with the new itunes and now it seems as though I have lost the ability to create backups of my devices frm itunes. when i right click on the device in itunes there is not longer the option to create a backup, when i try to restore to a previous backup the latest backup available to me is the date that i upgraded itunes all subsequent syncs have failed to produced a backup.
I had wifi sync disable backups before i upgraded my itunes, and now i can't reinstall wifi sync for it fails to patch the apple mobile device file. i have tried reinstalling itunes but to no avail, anyone else have the same problem or got any suggestions for me to try?
noobish question here but if i downgrade my itunes to 9.xx will all my apps, backups etc all get wiped? i was thinking of uninstalling itunes 10.1 and reinstalling 9.xx to see if it will help.
On a different note, my iPhone 3GS has lost its vibration function as well as alert sounds. I'm not sure if this is related to the above issue, it just stopped working one day. My phone still rings when called but every other alert has lost the ability to make a sound or vibrate, my alarm clock however still rings and vibrates so its not a hardware issue. I have tried restoring my phone to a previous backup (same day that i upgraded my iTunes) but that didn't work. My iPhone is running iOS 4.1 jb with limera1n.. what should i do??
id just try to downgrade to older itunes that is still compatible with your IOS but if you have 4.2 you will have to downgrade that as well cause i believe you need 10.1 to install 4.2. good luck
