Exchange hotmail not working
I tried setting up MS Exchange so that I could get my Hotmail account pushed instead of waiting 15 minutes between checks. I managed to set it up, and can send mail, but can't receive any. Neither push nor pressing refresh in the Mail.app works. Is this a common problem or am I just overlooking something simple?

Make sure you have all your settings and password set up right for it. I have it on my iphone and it works fine.

Yeah, I'm 100% sure it's set up right. I triple-checked my password and email address.
The Server option is supposed to be "m.hotmail.com" right? I went to that address in Safari and got an error page.

SSL is ON.
My setup is this:
Email: *****@live.com
Server: m.hotmail.com
Domain: blank
Username: *****@live.com
Password: ********
Description: Exchange
Use SSL: YES
Like I said, I am 100% sure my password is right. I can SEND email but not receive them.
It might be a bug in 4.1, I see that you are on 4.2.1.Last edited by 5h4d0w; 11-25-2010 at 07:26 AM.

I had it working on 4.1 as well though.
I do have a paid account though. Do you have a free one or do you pay yearly? That may be the difference.Last edited by Simon; 11-25-2010 at 07:34 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I have a free hotmail account. That sucks if you need a payed account to use push though. Guess I'll stick to the 15 minute fetch. Maybe I can hack-in a 5 minute fetch?

Maybe but that may drain your battery faster.

I read on another site that it only works on a 3G connection and not WiFi (and both of you are on iPhones). Can anyone with an iPod Touch try this out?

I have tried exchange on 4.1 with my free hotmail account on iPhone and iPod touch, it works fine. So something must be wrong for you

I never got Exchange to work, but I did manage to add a 10 minute fetch, with a little help.
