I just installed and successfully jailbroke 4.2.1 on a 3G iphone. Everything is fine but I can't seem to get any of the emoji apps (cydia and/or appstore) to enable the keyboard so I can add it.
Is there a known problem/solution for the emoji keyboard and 4.2.1?
Any help is much appreciated, my wife is really starting to bug me about losing these damn icons.
Thats funny, my emoji are still there. Have you tried enabling them and then making sure your sms app is completely closed out first, then reopen it. Or maybe even try rebooting.
I'm having the same issue as you Persian-Rice, I used quite a few emoji-enabling apps and I haven't been able to get emoji to work. A buddy of mine is also jailbroken on 4.2.1 via redsn0w, yet his emoji works.
The only difference between his and mine, is that I used PwnageTool to create a custom 4.2.1 IPSW for my 3G. Have you had any luck getting emoji to work since your last post? I've also tried looking around the interwebs to find an answer, but the only thing I could find was this thread.
I figured I might update on my situation. I mentioned that I tried several emoji apps to no avail.. so I tried SpellNumber one more time. To my surprise, it worked.. The only different things I did this time around was after inputting the "code" in, I pressed enter and waited about 10-15 seconds, then pressed it again.
Afterwards, I went about the same way to add a keyboard, expecting just to see Estonian under the E's... and for some reason, it worked!
Or if that doesn't work, I read that doing nothing after inputting 91929394.59, press the home button and it should work.
