iPhone 4- 4.1 Network Internet Problems

So, i had 4.02 woth everything completely working 100%. and i upgraded to 4.1 via Tiny Umbrella. So i have bootloader 1.59 whhich i unlocked with ultrasn0w. Its a AT&T Locked phone. Now, i cannot use the internet. but there is a way which i can. the iPhone can with a AT&T sim. If i put the AT&T sim while the phone is on. then switch the phone off and turn it back on with the AT&T sim inside then remove the sim while the phone is on and put my Vodafone sim in, the net will work. But as soon as i restart with the vodafone sim the net shuts off. Any help would be great...........

It sounds like you need to change the APN settings to AT&T.

Hang on I just re read that... Manually change the APN settings to the carrier you want to use. If that doesn't work you could try resetting network settings in general>reset>reset network settings. This worked for me but be aware I've heard by doing this you may need to re jailbreak and unlock. I never have and I'm using same os and jailbreak but can't be sure.
Mine kept on defaulting to the vodafone settings (original) after I reset all settings it defaulted my carrier and network to O2. And all was fine.

I tried all that and when i reset network settings, i didnt have to do none of that..... i changed all the apn and stuff but nothing.......

I'm right in thinking it's voda you want to use yeah.. When you boot up with voda sim if you go to settings>general>about does it say your carrier is voda or AT&T? And does your APN settings keep going back to AT&T?

Reason I ask is I had same problem in the end I reset all settings and that worked, changed my carrier to O2 and sorted my APN settings, also iTunes updated carrier settings afterwards too

Everything says vodafone. even my APN says "iphone"

heres something.... when i put the AT&T sim in the phone while its on, turn he phone off and turn it back on, remove the AT&T sim while the phone's on and then put my voda sim in, the net works fine but when i restart the phone. it wont work again....

and on the bottom, next to "Carrier- Vodafone India 8.0"


I think it should say AT&T not sure....

In the uk the APN should be wap.vodafone.co.uk

i am in india. Vodafone India.. And yea, im trying to get Vodafone working and not AT&T

What is your carrier settings ? ATNT or Vodafone

As far as i know its "portalnmms" but in my iphone its coming up as "iphone" and neither of them is working on..

Have a search in the forum there's a page somewhere that lists all the APN settings for different countries
