Possible to hear Iphone through car stereo?
I just bought a JVC receiver and an auxillary cable that fits (3.5mm) in my Iphone. I know that it can be used for an Ipod and play music through it. But, my question is, if I want to hear my calls through the car speakers is that possible?
BTW If it matters I have 3G 4.1Last edited by UltraFast; 11-23-2010 at 09:57 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Wouldn't people hear you through the phone as normal or does it disconnect when aux. is plugged in?

I am not worried about it disconnecting i am thinking if the mic isnt up to your face then you wont be load enough for them to here. Also if you going through an aux you will also come over the radio too so you will hear your self. If you get a stereo bluetooth you wont have those problems

But how are you going to be loud enough without the phone right up to your mouth anyways for people to hear you

I can be 10 feet away from my phone and people still hear me. I use speaker phone all the time. I have a bluetooth headset but people tell me it sounds odd.

I just realized something while driving to work tonight. The reason I can talk to people via Auxillary is because of my Belkins phone holder. Apparently it provides the speaker functionality somehow through its auxillary input. I disconnected it and tried a regular auxillary cable and it did not work.

I use a Jupiter Jack to do what you are wanting to do. Cost $10 at most drugstores here in the states. Tune your radio to one of a few different rarely used frequencies and it works great!

You can use regular headphones without the mic with the iPhone 4 and you can hear the people and they can hear you in a call clearly even 4 foots away from your mouth without the use of the speaker. You dont need the original headphones from apple with mic to talk with the people, the mic is useless with iPhone 4. I think the same thing happen in this case.Last edited by javiert30; 11-25-2010 at 10:27 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
