Default Iphone 3gs gone in headphone mode

    Hi,

My iphone has gone in headphone mode.

It was working fine till the evening, then suddenly, when i made a call i could not hear anything, so i turned the speaker on and i could hear the voice, when i tried increasing the volume it said, increasing the volume of headphone, when i receive a call from someone i can hear the ring but when i make a call i cannot talk in handset mode, i have to turn on the speaker mode to hear the voice, when i connected my headphone it was working fine. Even music does not play in normal mode.

Is this a software problem or hardware problem. Any solution will be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks,

    Ben

Try looking in your headphone jack and see if you can see any dirt or build up and try to clean it out. If the sensor has something on it the phone may think headphones are plugged in.

Try a fresh restore to determine whether it is a software issue or a hardware one. The latter would be more difficult to deal with.
