help changing text message tones

b4 i had to re-jailbrake my phone with whiterboard i loaded dukes of hazzard as my text alert tried it now with the new 4.1 hack but i cant get it to work can anyone tell me if i need to download somethine else thanks

u can try unlim tones in cydia.

thanks nice wee app but cant get the sms part to work will only make ringtones

must have somthing to do with firmware 4.1 works on my phone but im on 4.0 u like that app. get the unlim videos to watch free movies.

If you really want to get your SMS text ringtone working, you're going to have to do a bit of work.

First, find the text ringtone you want (it should be in .caf format). SSH into your iPhone. Go to var > stash > Themes and then create a new folder (name it whatever). Within that new theme folder, create another folder called UISounds. Then move your ringtone to this folder. Rename the ringtone "sms-received1.caf". Apply the theme in Winterboard and respring. It should work then.

There's probably an easier method (like ringtones found in Cydia made specifically for 4.1), but this method works too, though it's a bit lengthy.

i have now got the sms tone that i downloaded on whiterboard it just replaced one of the iphone tones without changing the name must be as im now on 4.1 as you used to see the name thanks all for the help i will also download Bitesms
