Default iPhone Setting-> Sounds crashing (iOS 4.1)

iPhone 3GS, recently upgraded to iOS 4.1, jailbroken with limera1n

Only one WEIRD problem... when I try to go to Settings-> sounds ... it ALWAYS crashes the Settings ...

Anyone knows how to even approach this?

The best thing would be to restore and re jailbreak. That should take care of the issue.

We dont really know if it would fix it... and I installed so many things by now...

If I could MANUALLY install a ringtone and make the system pick it... I would be golden

Honestly it more than likely would because i have jailbroken so many devices and never experienced this but have experienced other things that were just a little off. It could of been a bad file during the jailbreak something simple.
Get package back up in cydia run it so it backs all your cydia stuff, restore the phone, re jailbreak, and then re install package back up, run it, you will get everything back.

And i am 99.9 percent that will fix your problem.

Can you give me more details on this "package back up"?

The only one I see is AptBackUp.... is that it?

Its 4.99 in cydia just search for PkgBackup it gives all the details or AptBackup which is free and does basically the samething. Both are pretty good and very useful

I will search for a "less destructive" solution for a bit longer and then do it ...

    Hey Agiveon

I assume you have winterboard and supreme prefrences installed.

    Do this,
got to winterboard>> Select Themes >> Uncheck Supreme Preferences
    (*or any other application theme)

    And then try opening sounds

    It worked for me.
    Best of luck

I'm having the same issue of the settings crashing when I select sound settings. I don't have "Supreme Preferences" as a theme available in Winterboard but I do have the "Blue Thunder" theme enabled. I unchecked that theme and respring and now sound settings work. I reenabled the "Blue Thunder" and once again sounds settings crash when trying to open them.

Any ideas why winterboard themes cause this behavior?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
