I have a jailbroken iphone 4 i can add music but not pics to my phone and i have no clue why

the pictures tab in itunes doesn't work?

yes it does i can select folder when i go to sync it goes through first 2 steps skips 3rd which is the step to add pics its not itunes either because i can add pics on to my jb ipod touch

Have you tried restoring it? I would doi t while it's easily jailreakable.

Try unselecting it (so dont sync any photos), then press sync, then try selecting it again to sync the photos.

well unselecting didnt work now if i restore it wont it upgrade my phone to 4.1 can i jailbreak again at that point

Yes you can jailbreak again no problem on 4.1 with greenpoison or limera1n. Do you require unlock though?

i dont need unlock just jailbreak is process fairly easy

Not as easy as jailbreakme.com but it is still pretty easy with either greenpoison or limera1n.
