Iphone 3g repair

ok i have an iphone 3g 8gb.
It has a "deadstrip" at the bottom of the phone where you pick up calls.

I wanted to know if replacing the digitizer fixes the deadstrip problem and I wanted to know if anyone has done it with an ebay digitizer.

yes that will fix the problem and yes i have used many from ebay with no problems, just make sure you buy from a trusted/power seller
