What Jailbreak tool for iPhone 3G using iOS 4-4.1

I was wondering what is the best tool to jailbreak an iPhone 3G and run iOS 4.1. (if it simply runs much better on a 4.0.x I would do that instead) Originally I jailbroke with redsn0w and it was pretty glitchy/slow/unstable. I actually thought I bricked my phone; when i tried to restore to factory setting via itunes and it kept freezing at the same point every time. Since I literally could not go without a phone for a day I ran out and bought the iPhone 4. Later that night I fixed the problem with the 3G and gave it to my girlfriend. So I want to re-jailbreak it but don't know which tool is the best. What tool have people used and how has the phone worked after? Thanks everyone.

Give green poison a try, thats what I used with decent results.

No it doesn't. Check my jailbreak guide (stickied in jailbreak section in general) and find your device. It will tell you what tools work for phones that need unlocking and those that don't.

Ok, i thought so. I have read that one can jailbreak 3G w/ iOS 4.1 with redsnow, snowbreeze, and pwnage tool, which one is best? Again, I have read of man glitchy/unstable results with redsnow,and experienced this myself a little when I first jailbroke it. Have you (or anyone) had iOS 4.1 running on a 3G smoothly/stable?

If you don't like redsn0w, use sn0wbreeze. For iPhone 3G, those are your only options on 4.1. Unless you have a Mac then use PwnageTool in place of Sn0wbreeze

I advise you to stay at 3.1.3 on a 3G. 4.x just isn't as usable

sn0wbreeze is the worse tool of the bunch. Both pwnagetool and redsn0w are great tools.
