Some questions
First question: Say Apple releases 4.2, and I have my SHSH of 4.1 Saved. Do I have to put my device in DFU mode to upgrade ios 4.0.1 to 4.1?
Second Question: I saved my SHSH via tinyumbrella, all I gotta do is put my device in DFU and click start TSS server? right?

if you have saved the SHSH i think yeah you need to put it in DFU mode if you have upgraded to a newer FW.. if you are restoring simply write over. and yes you need to turn on TSS server to trick itunes in to thinking your device is ok to setup.
Being an i can be a lot of pressure. you have to live right up to the small point.

I have 4.0.1 right now, can I restore back to 4.0.1 without my SHSH?
I mean like say I'm on 4.0.1 right now, apple released 4.2. Can i upgrade to 4.1 without DFU?

If you have 4.1 SHSH saved then yes you can upgrade to that even after Apple releases 4.2.
But if you don't have it saved by the time Apple stops signing it then you are out of luck.
