ios 4.0.2 battery life on 3gs

Did any1 have issue with this? I just upgraded from 3.1.3 to 4.0.2 and is unlocked with ultrasn0w 1-1.1, turned off notification(push) and cellular data but just a short 1 hour of playing with my phone and my battery percentage dropped to 76%. I felt this is unreasonable..is there anything wrong?

how do i turn it off? there's an [N] sign on the top right corner when i turned on certain apps...

That's native backgrounding...the N icon. Search Cydia for the hack that turns off native backgrouding. Search for something like 'disable multitasking' and that should find it.
